I’m Not Ready For Fall

I know, I know, Pumpkin Spice lattes and the colours on the trees – that’s all well and good.

BUT….

I’m sorry, I’m just going to say it – I’m not ready for Fall. Mostly because it doesn’t feel like my family has had a summer. At work 730-5 pm every weekday so we try to squeeze in keeping the house clean, laundry, dishes and some small adventure on the weekends. The weather has been odd but sure, we’ve had a few glorious days.

I’m really trying not to be a Negative Nelly but I feel like I haven’t actually relaxed.

And now school starts in  TEN DAYS!

How the heck did that happen? One minute we’re taking end of the year photos the next we’re shopping for sneakers that might last them till December? And then there is Costco and their winter gear that was out in July. Gah.

I. Am. Not. Ready.

I almost wish I could throw a massive, 3 year old tantrum. You know, the ones where you kick and scream? Rolling around on the floor, trying to see how many ear drums you can bust and how loud the sounds are as you bang your feet on the floor. Yeah, just imagining that is kind of therapeutic.

OK, I’m done now. And in the interest of me trying to banish the negativity I seem to be harbouring share with me. Allow me to live vicariously through you. Tell me your grand Summer adventures, your best memories of this last couple months.

This Mama needs a does of sunshine and awesomeness.

Chris is one of the only mama’s with a “day job”. Mom of 2, a 7 & 9 year old, she works as a Receptionist for a locally owned auto body shop. She loves cider, hanging out with good people and writing about her feelings. She currently resides in our Capital City, however she grew up on a farm north east of the city and never forgets her farm girl roots.
