”This is Fine” Pumpkin

You know that meme: the dog calmly sipping coffee in a burning room, saying, “This is fine.”

Meet the fall version: the fire-y This is Fine Pumpkin.

Because sometimes, carving an overly cheerful pumpkin while juggling school strikes, cold season, and a schedule full of chaos feels oddly therapeutic.

We are all Treaty people.

We’ve been pretty creative with our pumpkins since the kids were little. We are no where close to amazing, but usually have some of the fancier pumpkins in the neighbourhood at least.

Stuck in yet another year of “ugh” we were inspired to do something for the adults with one of our pumpkins this year.

We are all getting through this together. Things are going to be okay.

It isn’t a fancy template, and my instructions are very simple. I wish I were more helpful, but it’s 100% amateur hour over here on pumpkin night!

Tape your template onto the pumpkin. Our experience has been that it’s easiest to carve directly through the paper. (Bonus: you can still donate the pumpkin to an animal rescue since you haven’t marked it up with ink!)

  • White parts stay pumpkin.
  • Black parts get cut out.
  • Red parts have the skin scraped away so they glow.

I recommend getting a good set of pumpkin carving tools.

Crank up those haunting tunes and have some dirty Halloween fun!
